What got you into music, and if you had not gotten into music what would you be doing today?
Stoney Dee: Just wanted to get laid… duh. I’d be doing actual work, probably
Andreas: Maybe a sugar daddy?
Andrea: I wanted to become a professional killer, but I failed the sports entrance exam ;)
What do you like to do when you are not playing music and how does that influence your creativity?
Markus: I like smoking, talking, drinking beer and speaking with different people with different lives…. The way of life can be interesting also… but I like to talk about Music, Bands, their Soundexperiences, Concept or no concepts… and many other things like friends, party, party, beeeeeer beeeeeer
Stoney Dee: I like drinking loads of beer… that’s basically it. If you listen closely you can hear THE BEER!
Andreas: Drinking wine and think about the world
How long has your band been around?
Markus: With this Band we are playing for few years…..
Stoney Dee: *looks at watch on the wrist* ...mhhh… what weekday is today?
Andrea: Since 2018.
Where are you based out of and how did that influence your music?
Stoney Dee: Classical music … eeehm I mean cocaine music
Andrea: It’s only Rock and Roll, but we like it. - Living in Bavaria, Germany - but that has no influence on our music in any way.
How did you come up with the name of your band and what does it mean to you?
Stoney Dee: Well, someone came up with it and… it means something… i guess
Andrea: My nickname is Andy. Since we play rock the name Andy Rocks was chosen. The name of Stoney Dee is Andre and Andreas is the bass player – so we got three Andys.
Tell me about your most memorable shows.
Andreas: The first time on a really big stage with a video wall … my throat went so dry, I couldn’t sing a straight line … It was really frustrating
What is your favorite venue to play at, and do you have any places you want to play that you have not already?
Stoney Dee: I like to play at my mom’s garage… the beer there is always cold. I would also like to play at my mom’s neighbor's garage, they have a bigger fridge.
Andreas: I really love every opportunity to be on stage … little or big … every stage is special in its own way
Andrea: Me too!
Markus: Scandal Music fest!
If you could play any show with any lineup, who would be on the ticket?
Stoney Dee: Definitely the date and time… otherwise people wouldn’t know when the show would be
Andreas: Aerosmith
What is some advice that you would give to someone who is just getting into playing in a band and some advice that you would give to your younger self?
Stoney Dee: Don’t do drugs kids… except you get them really cheap somewhere
Andreas: Just don’t lose your passion … forget about money or something like that …
If you could go back in time and give yourselves advice, what would it be?
Stoney Dee: Do more drugs, the hangovers got much worse with age
Andrea: Do music with passion but don’t stress yourself too much.
Andreas: Don’t be shy … do more mistakes, do more party
Of your songs which one means the most to you and why?
Markus: Get me a drink, because everyone should do it!
Stoney Dee: That one song about this 80s show - full house - And also that one song where Andy sings “I’m a toast, and I want to get jammed… yeah yeah.. White bread baby… yeah uhh … get jammed!”... thank’s a lot, now I've got it stuck in my head.
Andreas: With you … it was my first song and I still like it, especially the guitar melody
Andrea: I cannot tell, they all have a certain meaning for me.
Which songs are your favorite to play and which get requested the most?
Markus: Get me a drink, Hot as hell, Long lost love, …
Stoney Dee: I like to play that song about the olsen twins - heavy riff - nice melody - all in all perfect The most requested song is probably “spicy little chicken fingers” - don’t know why though… We don’t even have a song with that name.
Andreas: Hot Nights, Keep Holding On, With You, Bitter Pill ...
What is the creative process for the band, and what inspires you to write your music?
Markus: Fun, authenticity, emotions and feelings ...
Stoney Dee: Watching 80s sitcoms.
Andreas: Being depressed
Andrea: Experiences you make in your life.
What kinds of messages do you like to get across in your music?
Stoney Dee: Bring back 80s sitcoms and I also want to teach people how to make the perfect sandwich
Andreas: Criticizing Capitalism and Fascism … I also like the dirty stuff … David Coverdale is maybe the greatest role model ;)
Do you ever have disagreements in your band, and how do you get past them?
Stoney Dee: Disagreements about who gets to drink the last beer. We’ll never get past these disagreements…
Andrea: You can have it, I prefer wine.
What are your plans for the future, and do you have anything that you want to spotlight that is coming up?
Markus: Playing drums, having fun and buy a travel van for touring ;)
Stoney Dee: Listening to scandal rockband…. Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeehhhhhm… I mean I’ll continue watching 80s sitcoms (I guess that’s my thing now)
Andrea: I recommend you to check out our new album Look at what we’ve done and to tell us, what you think of it! :)
