Interview: BATTLE SYMPHONY
What got you into music, and if you had not gotten into music what would you be doing today?
I stayed a kid piano etc. So it was something natural. I am not a musician, music is my hobby. I work as a journalist and i am happy i do my dream job.
What do you like to do when you are not playing music and how does that influence your creativity?
Music is my escape from a very stressful routine. Like a personal psychotherapy. I read when i can and have time and definitely spend time with my son.
How long has your band been around?
Two years!
Where are you based out of and how did that influence your music?
I am living in Athens, Greece. Well i can’t say that living in Greece, influenced my music. It’s a beautiful land, with a powerful metal scene, but nothing to do with musical influences.
How did you come up with the name of your band and what does it mean to you?
I tried to find a name that would describe in the best possible way our music. So Battle Symphony is the ideal name for the band!
Tell me about your most memorable shows.
I never played a live gig.
What is your favorite venue to play at, and do you have any places you want to play that you have not already?
As i mention before, i never had this experience.
If you could play any show with any lineup, who would be on the ticket?
Bruce Dickinson on vocals, Steve Harris on bass guitar, Adrian Smith and Yngwie Malmsteen on guitars, Andre Andersen on keyboards and Mark Zonder on drums.
What is some advice that you would give to someone who is just getting into playing in a band and some advice that you would give to your younger self?
To follow his dreams. That is the advice that i would give also to my younger self, although i think he already knows it!
If you could go back in time and give yourselves advice, what would it be?
Do what you like and dream big.
Of your songs which one means the most to you and why?
Probably “The Final Chance”, because it’s the first i composed.
Which songs are your favorite to play and which get requested the most?
We are in the beginning, so i can’t really tell.
What is the creative process for the band, and what inspires you to write your music?
I write and compose everything. Inspiration is everywhere. In the society, on a book, on a movie or tv series…
What kinds of messages do you like to get across in your music?
Anti - war messages. Messages of unity and peace.
Do you ever have disagreements in your band, and how do you get past them?
Battle Symphony are a metal project, so i can’t really disagree with my self!
What are your plans for the future, and do you have anything that you want to spotlight that is coming up?
Our debut album is already out, so please give a chance on Battle Symphony and try this musical experience we’ve created for you!
