Hi Blooming Fire! Thank you for speaking with me today!
Thank you for having us
What have you been working on lately?
We’ve been working on tons of new music for the past two years pretty much. We’re finally at a place where we’re ready to start recording and plan to go into the studio with some very special people in November after our fall tour. We’ve been prepping for our west coast tour and really looking forward to our first show back! Aside from tour and new music we spent most of the year creating a 4 song music video, pretty much a short film. While we had no idea it would take us as long as it did and after having to push back the release we’re excited that it’s finally coming out soon! The Dunia Visual EP Experience will take viewers through a wormhole into another dimension! To enjoy the full experience follow this link: https://www.bloomingfiremusic.com/dunia-visual-experience
Do you have any non music goals you are working toward?
The main thing we’re working towards aside from music is buying land and building an off grid studio!!!
Have you noticed any shifts or changing trends in the music world lately that you find intriguing?
We look forward to bands and artists bringing back live drums, it seems to be this weird trend that everyone is using electronic drums, well not everyone but 80% of the music we hear doesn’t have a real kit in the mix….also seems like more artists are shifting into a more aware state, using their platform as a space to help the world and spread a message versus just producing break up songs. Nothing wrong with a breakup song but seems like there’s more substance overall.
You all do a lot of environmental advocacy work! Will you tell us a bit about that?
It’s important to us to be a voice for Mother Earth, to be one with nature. We want to inspire everyone to connect back to their roots, to let go of the consumerism that has become the forefront of our existence and remember to look around at all of the magic we are apart of before it’s past a point of no return.
Are there ways you all like to get involved, be it volunteering, fundraising, etc, that you would suggest for our readers who would like to start helping out?
Education is a huge part of understanding what’s going on…we recommend the following documentaries: One Strange Rock, Cowspiracy, Chasing Coral, Before the Flood, Seaspiracy, An Inconvenient Truth, Blackfish, Before the Flood, Gasland….there’s so many!!!
There’s so many things we the people can do!!! VOTE for policy change, we need our leaders to lead to overcome the Climate Crisis and protect our planet over profit. Eat more plant-based meals and consume less in general. Steer away from single-use plastics as much as you can and be a conscious consumer, ask yourself if you really need that Shien order or if thrifting vintage is a sexier choice, put down the Amazon wish list and connect with a local Buy Nothing Group…” we don’t need a handful of people doing zero waste perfectly, we need millions of people doing zero waste imperfectly” -Anne-Marie Bonneau
