Hi Cym! It is great to chat with you today!
What have you been working on recently? Anything exciting coming up?
Recently I have been working on a new song with a special feature that will be coming out in July so I'm super excited for that! Also have a music video with Marc E Bassey set to come out in about 2 weeks so keep an eye out for that!
What is your favorite part of your creative process?
My favorite part of the creative process would be clearing my mind and letting the ideas flow naturally. I love adding backgrounds to my songs. That's where I feel the most creative.
What has the most surreal moment of your career been so far?
The most surreal moment of my career was seeing my face and hard work displayed in Time Square this past February! Also going on a nationwide tour a few years ago was such a great experience.
How do you find balance between artist life and normal life?
I feel being an artist comes with normal life. I always incorporate my life experiences into my music so I feel the two mix. Part of being a songwriter is to write about the ups, downs, and unsettling moments of life so bridging the gap between artist life and normal life comes naturally.
What keeps you motivated?
My love for music and performing keeps me motivated. It was a tough year of very minimal show opportunities and a lot of pressure to stay relevant on the music end of things but I love it so much that no matter what happens in life I will always pull through.
Do you have a mantra or piece of advice that you carry with you that you would like to pass on to fans?
Do what makes YOU happy. It’s okay to be selfish at times. I have a hard time making sure that I'm not always putting others' needs before mine so a huge step towards living everyday to the fullest is making sure you are doing what makes you happy.
