Interview: Dzasko
What got you into music, and if you had not gotten into music what would you be doing today?
I slowly gravitated into music from an early age, i think at 4 - 5 years old I was damaging cassettes by constantly rewinding the same song over and over or strumming a tennis racket. By 14 I started experimenting with recording on my laptop, so I think I've always been into music. I think if i had not gotten into music , i would be trying to do films or painting.
What do you like to do when you are not playing music and how does that influence your creativity?
Read, watch movies or hang around at friends houses. It helps a lot cause im not actively thinking about music at that time, i'm just enjoying and experiencing the present.
How long has music been your career?
I would say, since the moment I released my first single. That was when I was 17 years old.
Where are you based out of and how did that influence your music?
I'm based in LA. There’s a broad live scene here, it seems like everyone here has something important to say, so that pushes you in some way.
Tell me about the best and worst shows you have played.
The best show was the last one I did a few weeks ago at an Adults Only Bar in Hollywood, the worst show in my opinion would be back in my DJ days years ago, i was in the middle of a set and the PA system wasn’t working that well.
Tell me about your favorite venue to play at, and do you have any places you want to play that you have not already?
Played recently at a venue called Kiss Kiss Bang Bang in LA, the place was great. I would like to play at The Roxy Theatre.
If you could play any show with any lineup, who would be on the ticket?
Cocteau Twins
What is some advice that you would give to someone who is just getting into music?

Which songs are your favorite to play and which get requested the most?
Lost in a feeling and Over Now
What is the creative process for you, and what inspires you to write your music?
Books
What kinds of messages do you like to get across in your music?
I don’t think I'm sending a certain message with my music.
Do you ever have disagreements when collaborating and how do you get past them?
Not really, normally if I'm working with someone it is because I have some kind of trust for that person, so I don't normally clash with ideas.
What are your plans for the future, and do you have anything that you want to spotlight that is coming up?
Yes, I've released my new single “Like this” with Elodie Gervaise. This single is out of my upcoming EP “Auguries of Innocence” set to release in September.
