Interview: Geometry of Chaos
What got you into music, and if you had not gotten into music what would you be doing today?
Since I was a little kid I have grew my passion to music, sometimes were the vinyls of my parents, sometimes were radio or TV. I also was very interesting in poetry, that was my first real passion and in occult doctrines when I grew up.
What do you like to do when you're not playing music and how does that influence your creativity?
Free time is dedicate to a lot of passion from doing sport to reading books, videogames and TV series. Too Many to mention. And everything I do and hobby I have, inspires me in some ways.
How long has your band been around?
Me and Davide are playing together since 2014, at that time we called ourselves Galileo’s Spectacles. This specific band since late 2018.
Where are you based out of and how did that influence your music?
We are from Torino, an important and big town on the northwest of Italy, not far from France.
How did you come up with the name of your band and what does it mean to you.
I chose the name because I like the contrast between geometry and chaos, order and disorder and because I think there is an order in everything, also when it’s impossible to find it
Tell me about the best and worst shows you have played.
THE best shows were the first I had when I was 23, 24 with a Gothic band I have played with at that time. The worst was in a little pub when really I didn’t get the sound that I wanted and that makes me mad all night long
Tell me about your favorite venue to play at, and do you have any places you want to play that you haven't already?
Big stages, I would like to play big stages, not anyone in particular
If you could play any show with any lineup who would be on the ticket?
TOOL, king crimson and other prog bands I love
What is some advice that you would give to someone who is just getting into playing in a band?
Practice, practice, practice
If you could go back in time and give yourselves advice, what would it be?
Keep doing what you want and make everything perfect
Of your songs which one means the most to you and why?
Soldiers of the New World Order, it was the first I have completed and it was the presentation of the band online
Which songs are your favorite to play and which get requested the most?
Everyone, but probably Premonition need a little more attention to play
What is the creative process for the band, and what inspires you to write your music?
I don’t stay there, bored, waiting for the inspiration come. I feel sometimes the adrenaline and inspiration to compose, sometimes the idea comes when I’m jamming on my one or with others.
What kinds of messages do you like to get across in your music?
I prefer people find the message on their own, instead of reveal it
Do you ever have disagreements in your band, and how do you get past them?
Yes, it has happened sometimes in the past with other band and projects, not now, me and Davide know exactly what we are doing and how developed the project .
What are your plans for the future, and do you have anything that you want to spotlight that's coming up?
Album is out since a week and you can listen to it on every digital stores and Spotify too. We are very excited and we want to promote it as long as we can, it took about 2 years since we started To record it and now we need to focus on the promotion side.
