What got you into music, and if you had not gotten into music what would you be doing today? I was a really shy teenager and didn’t really find it easy to communicate with other people. Although I’d been playing the guitar since the age of 11, it was quite formalistic and focused on classical playing. The big turning point was discovering Led Zeppelin when I was 14. It just blew the doors open. I found this way of expressing myself that wasn’t reliant on talking or looking people in the eye, and when I started gigging I just exploded on stage. It was a massive relief.
