Hi Joey! Thank you for chatting with me today!
Thanks for having me!
What have you been working on lately? Any fun projects?
I have been mostly tied up working in my commercial recording studio www.shadowsoundstudio.com for my music production clients. Hhowever, I am working on a new album that will probably come out in August of this year and also promoting the mini documentary about my life and music filmed by my friend Courtney Adkisson called “Don’t Blink” being released on all my social media channels on 6/29.
If you had to use three words to describe your music what would they be?
Honest, sassy, eclectic!
When did you realize you wanted music to be your career?
Most of my childhood and teenage years were devoted to survival as I am a blind brain tumor survivor with several health challenges. However, I would say around 15 years old I knew audio recording and music would be a big part of my life. By the time I was 19 years old, I was starting to make a living as a music professional and I haven’t looked back.
What has been the biggest game-changer in your career thus far?
Hmmm, I could answer this several ways, but I think the big thing is that I have learned to be very selective about who I work with in my professional and personal life. I think carefully because with whom you associate is a big deal and should be based on finding people that lift you up and share your values! This is mission critical for a life of success!
When do you feel most creative?
I work hard to be creative always, so I don’t think I have a time that I am not being creative and that is important as my livelihood depends upon that state of mind!
What song do you HAVE to sing along with when it is on?
Almost anything by the Beatles, but my favorite song is always changing LOL. Right now, I am really digin’ the band Wolfe Alice!
What is the best piece of advice another musician has given to you?
My friend GRAMMY-winning producer and recording engineer Ross Hogarth reminds me to be in the moment and that is sage advice!
Please let everyone know where to find you!
