Hi Liv! So great to speak with you!
You as well!
You have been working on new music, correct? Will you tell us about it?
Yes! I'm finally beginning to release music I've been holding on to for a while. I'm pretty open and vulnerable about my life and feelings/emotions in this new music so I wanted to make sure I didn't rush anything. I guess audiences can expect a little insight into how my brain works.
What is the most rewarding part of putting your creativity into new music?
I feel like I have changed my perspective on life completely within the past year and now one of the most rewarding parts is people connecting to my music.
What is your favorite part of the writing and recording process?
Probably the writing process because it's the shortest and most therapeutic. It only takes me like 10-15 minutes to write a song but it takes days/weeks to produce and record it.
You are in school at the moment as well right? What are you studying?
I am! I am double majoring in BFA Acting and BA Business, with a concentration in Media & Arts Management, and a Music Industry minor.
With all of the different things you have going on, how do you stay balanced and how do you recharge? What are your favorite self care practices?
What works for me is establishing a detailed routine giving myself time to get all my work done, hang out with friends, and moments for myself. But at the moment I'm struggling because I started school again meaning I have to adjust to a new schedule. I think it's important to be honest about the struggles of taking on a lot, I mean I broke out in a stress rash this past week and was texting my Dad all of this morning discussing my trouble with self-discipline recently. Keeping yourself balanced is something you have to actively work on and I haven't been recently. But my go-to steps when I get like this are to get a lot of rest, drink a lot of water, eat healthy foods that make me feel happy, exercise, and meditate.
Would you have any advice for would-be artists or songwriters wanting to follow in your footsteps?
If you want something, do everything in your power to ensure you are always putting your best foot forward. To quote Seneca, "luck is when preparation meets opportunity."
Please let everyone know where they can keep up with you and your new music!
