[gallery type="slideshow" link="none" size="full" ids="150592,150593"] What got you into music, and if you had not gotten into music what would you be doing today? We have all been playing in bands and music since we were kids so from learning how to play music since high school We still have our day jobs as teaches, call centre staff and lorry drivers as that’s pays the bills! however hopefully music will one day What do you like to do when your not playing music and how does that influence your creativity? When we aren’t playing music we are either checking out some bands or we like to play warzone on Xbox! We also like sports and you can occasionally see us at a Sunderland game! A lot of creativity comes in the practice room jack our singer gets very creative when driving in his car and listening to pop punk music How long has your band been around? We have only been a band 6 months we started out in April 2021 Where are you based out of and how did that influence your music? We are based in Sunderland UK and are all born in the sr5 postcode! As kids we spent a lot of time skateboarding and playing Tony hawk games. Sunderland scene mainly indie bands or rave music so the place didn’t influences us a lot however we are very much proud of where we come from How did you come up with the name of your band and what does it mean to you. The name Ninebanks comes from a place in Northumberland. It’s somewhere quite close to us however we have never been. We just thought the name sounded cool Tell me about the best and worst shows you have played. We haven’t played any shows yet! However we do have a sick show booked November 8th in newcastle at think tank Tell me about your favorite venue to play at, and do you have any places you want to play that you haven't already? In past bands our favourite venue was probably think tank in newcastle or the o2 academy! One place we would love to play is slam dunk festival If you could play any show with any lineup who would be on the ticket? There is to many to mention but a dream show would be! Blink 182, All time low, Fall out boy and Ninebanks What is some advice that you would give to someone who is just getting into playing in a band? Have fun, express yourself music is a art so having the ability to do this is something you should be grateful for If you could go back in time and give yourselves advice, what would it be? Try to be more open minded and enjoy a lot more music! Try not to stick it one genre and learn how to drive as soon as you can haha Of your songs which one means the most to you and why? A track we are releasing later this year called “little silver” it’s about my first ever car which o had a lot of good times in Which songs are your favorite to play and which get requested the most? We love all our songs but our favourite would have to be a track called “heads a prison” it’s slightly heavier than our usual pop punk stuff What is the creative process for the band, and what inspires you to write your music? Jack woods the lead singer has a ton of songs wrote and some very catchy choruses so we always start with the vocals first and write around that. With us being quite new what inspires us is the fact we know what sound we want and we all are on the same vibe What kinds of messages do you like to get across in your music? That pop punk 2000 Ere we grew up in is still alive and we want people who listen to our music to go back to that nostalgia time when life seemed a lot simpler Do you ever have disagreements in your band, and how do you get past them? We would be lying if we said we never had any disagreements but we are all grown up adults so talk it out, we always find a solution and move on from it. You have to be open and honest in a band or things can go sour What are your plans for the future, and do you have anything that you want to spotlight that's coming up? Plans for the future is to get another track out by the end of the year which we are recording dang the drums for October 3rd! We are lucky to be working alongside German based injected smiles on mixing mastering and producing our track so we know it will sound sick
We want to do a hometown show in Sunderland before the years out aswel! Hopefully next year we can get on some tours around the UK and really establish ourselves as a band
