What got you into music, and if you had not gotten into music what would you be doing today?
I think it's a natural predisposition and sensitivity to musical vibes, luckily developed in childhood in the music school. If I had not gotten into music, I would be still english language, piano, philosophy teacher, trainer, actress, journalist or scientist.
What do you like to do when you are not playing music and how does that influence your creativity?
I have a few hobbies. I've been working a lot artistically and intellectually since coming back from Asia, so in my free time I try to do different kinds of sports, to rest and maintain balance of body and mind.
How long has music been your career?
Started in 2014 when my first album - Travel Far, was recorded. Before that period I decided to become a stewardess and to experience the world from different perspectives and places. As a child was able to play piano concerts in music school contests, and sing in a chora at school performances and at university. So the music adventure started quite early for me.
Where are you based out of and how did that influence your music?
I'm based out of the Poland area at the moment. It's a dynamic country, with old traditions, open minds and outside influences. It's a progressive country, sometimes a little complicated with politics. I have travelled a lot as a stewardess abroad, since I was able to find a job in Asian airline, so definitely it influenced my creativity's perspectives.
Tell me about the best and worst shows you have played.
I have sentiment to school performances and music shows in Cracov - polish cultural capital, with an unforgettable atmosphere and audience.
The worst show I have played was in some beer pub in Warsaw. Someone had a birthday party that evening, all guests got drunk and loud at this table, so it didn't feel like a live music concert.
Tell me about your favorite venue to play at, and do you have any places you want to play that you have not already?
Jazz venues in Warsaw, Cracov and New York. I adore the elegant and classy arrangement of these places. Open festivals are also very climatic.
I would love to play a concert in an ancient palace one day.
If you could play any show with any lineup who would be on the ticket?
Marylin Monroe and Madonna.
What is some advice that you would give to someone who is just getting into music?
Develop yourself constantly, be persistent, confront yourself in music stages, get feedback, be realistic, be yourself.
If you could go back in time and give yourself advice, what would it be?
To work on sound engineering a little earlier. It's a time consuming activity, but not a difficult music area for me.
Of your songs which one means the most to you and why?
"Layover" - reminds me of the time when I was staying in Asia.
"Ka?dego Dnia" ("Every Day") - it's one of my first compositions from the 1st Album, about finding my artistic way.
Which songs are your favorite to play and which get requested the most?"Relation", "Strength and Tenderness" , "A Song and a Child" , "4E". Recently I got requested the most: " To Transcendent '' and "Obviousness and Wonder" from my 3rd Album, during music live streams I'm organizing on my social platforms - PatriciaPatrise - facebook, youtube, Instagram. What is the creative process for you, and what inspires you to write your music? For me it's like a journey between different aspects of reality: travels, chords, science, language.
What kinds of messages do you like to get across in your music?
Messages that are connected with practical aspects of life. I hope they can be helpful for getting the right attitude for some situations in life.
Do you ever have disagreements when collaborating and how do you get past them?
Sometimes it happens, every person has a different point of view for art and it's aspects. The classical method of action is the best in my opinion: to communicate and try to find possible agreement.
What are your plans for the future, and do you have anything that you want to spotlight that is coming up?
Recording my 4th Album, concert in a summer festival, releasing a new Single 5th of May - you are welcome to listen to it on my Instagram page: PatriciaPatriseMusic.
