What got you into music, and if you had not gotten into music what would you be doing today?
Hi eddy here.. At a young age i saw my buddies horn who had just joined junior high band , i was fascinated by the instrument! I joined band the next year and all my grades in all my other classes dropped! As all i cared about was playing! As per what id be doing today, im doing it! Being a musician you have to find other ways to earn an income, or most musicians anyway! So ive bartended, i have a recording studio, i build bikes and cars..anything to make a buck
What do you like to do when your not playing music and how does that influence your creativity?
Building bike and cars, welding, making metal art sculptures
How long has your band been around?
We started in late 1994
Where are you based out of and how did that influence your music?
We are in El Paso TX. Being from here we are not really chasing anyone’s tail , we obviously all have our influences that we grew up with, but unlike other places a lot of bands follow the latest trends, we were not influenced by any of that being from El Paso
How did you come up with the name of your band and what does it mean to you.
Our original singer dave (loco pelon ) mcnutt had a friend that caught the clap, he told him that it felt like he was pissing razors! We chose that name to match the abrasiveness of the music
Tell me about the best and worst shows you have played.
Well it’s not good when you’re on after the next bands who is playing and 2 guys are carrying a p.a. Speaker that’s on fire outside!! So we played with half a p.a.! It was fun regardless!
Tell me about your favorite venue to play at, and do you have any places you want to play that you haven't already?
There are so many.. But really, I’m really big on sound! It has to sound good! From the acoustics of the room, to the p.a. Lighting and the stage … so any room that has all these things is my fave!
As per places we have not played European festivals
If you could play any show with any lineup who would be on the ticket?
Pantera, gojira, lamb of god, machine head, sepultura… just to name a few!
What is some advice that you would give to someone who is just getting into playing in a band?
Do what you like how you like it! Be yourselves
If you could go back in time and give yourselves advice, what would it be?
Move to L.A. for 6 months and play anywhere and everywhere! We would have signed a better record deal
Of your songs which one means the most to you and why? Id say dodging bullets its the first song on our first label debut and it started our fan base which is still with us to this day!
Which songs are your favorite to play and which get requested the most?
Dodging bullets.. Mass corruption,,, fork tongue… burning bridges.. Hanging on the cross.. I love playing all of it
What is the creative process for the band and what inspires you to write your music?
I or anyone in the band can come in with an idea even a complete song or so we think! But the creative process starts when we all get together to pick it apart and make it a pissing razors song
What kinds of messages do you like to get across in your music?
Basically a lot of reality whether its positive or negative,, its real and someone out there can relate to it
Do you ever have disagreements in your band, and how do you get past them?
Rarely! It’s a very democratic group here
What are your plans for the future, and do you have anything that you want to spotlight that's coming up?
Our new record EULOGY DEATH MARCH! I truly believe it’s our best work yet! Playing shows!
