Interview: Susurro
What got you into music, and if you had not gotten into music what would you be doing today?
Music has always been a component for us. In the village where we grew up, there were only two options. Soccer club or music club. So the course was already set at that time.
What do you like to do when you are not playing music and how does that influence your creativity?
When I'm not making music, we eat and travel the world. And help other people who have problems and we can possibly support.
How long has your band been around?
The band "Susurro" has been officially existing for 3 years now. But before that we jammed for a year until we decided in a beer mood to found the band.
Where are you based out of and how did that influence your music?
We come from the Backnang area, which is about 30km away from Stuttgart. From small villages. There is not much here so we also wanted to start a metal band.
How did you come up with the name of your band and what does it mean to you?
We have made downright bass thunderstorm season. Turned up the bass amp and the synth bass so that the walls shook and glasses flew out of the cabinet. Acquaintances always said that would only hum and buzz. That's how our name was born.
Tell me about your most memorable shows.
That was 2020. Short-term commitment for a performance under the open sky before the lockdown came again. Planned was a gig of 1 hour. It was then 4 hours in the end. The people have celebrated so. We were all drunk at the end and our drummer had lost his pants.
What is your favorite venue to play at, and do you have any places you want to play that you have not already?
We like to play everywhere where our music is popular. But most of all we would like to play on big festivals one day. "Wacken" or "Hellfest. At the same time, the gig s in small clubs are also worth a lot. Because the audience there is more honest.
If you could play any show with any lineup, who would be on the ticket?
Clearly.
Cannibal corpse
Unless Slayer go on tour again.
What is some advice that you would give to someone who is just getting into playing in a band and some advice that you would give to your younger self?
Be honest, be yourself. Make music for yourself and it doesn't matter what others say about it.
If you could go back in time and give yourselves advice, what would it be?
Stop doing any pop shit. it's not you. And listen to your inner
Of your songs which one means the most to you and why?
For me, "No way Out" has a very big meaning. You see what is happening in the whole wide world at the moment. And it's getting worse and worse. Unfortunately, it is in our nature to extinguish ourselves.
Which songs are your favorite to play and which get requested the most?
No way out, bloodbath, are whole front with it. But also Burning in Flame and Hatefull
What is the creative process for the band, and what inspires you to write your music?
I take my guitar and she tells me what to play. I have a relationship with my guitars. The instrument talks to me
What kinds of messages do you like to get across in your music?
Love peace, and live life the way you want and take not care of the shalatans.
Do you ever have disagreements in your band, and how do you get past them?
In any relationship, there are different opinions. It would be bad if we were all just yes men. But we are adults and you can always talk about everything and in case of doubt it is just drunk.
What are your plans for the future, and do you have anything that you want to spotlight that is coming up?
Yes, we are working on a new album that will eclipse anything we have done before. It will be great. Brutal, harder, faster. We already have 4 tracks ready. But we want at least two more. We'll try to release it at the end of the year.
