Interview: Whaledog
What got you into music, and if you had not gotten into music what would you be doing today?
Ole: I had an older brother who played guitar that got me in to music.
Q.What do you like to do when you are not playing music and how does that influence your creativity?
Micke: We are old farts! We like play with our grand children and walking our Dogs and Whales.
Q.How long has your band been around?
Since the fall of 2020
Q.Where are you based and how did that influence your music?
We are based in Stockholm
Q.How did you come up with the name of your band and what does it mean to you?
Micke: I read about how the Norwegian whale hunters in the 19th century used dogs to find the whales. They were standing in the front of the ships and barked when sniffing Whales. Whaledog in strongly against Whale Hunt in any form but it´s an interesting name.

We have not done any shows yet.

Wembley and Madison Square Garden
Q.If you could play any show with any lineup, who would be on the ticket?
The Foo Fighters! We are in shock of Taylor Hawkins death. We really hope they will come together again in the future.
Q. What is some advice that you would give to someone who is just getting into playing in a band and some advice that you would give to your younger self?
Have fun!
To have patience, to not give up when it feels hard and nothing seems to happen. Write songs! A lot of songs!
Q.If you could go back in time and give yourselves advice, what would it be?
Micke: Don’t drink alcohol. Stay sober and play music with an open and clear mind.
Q.Of your songs which one means the most to you and why?
Micke: Right now it´s our last single “In Time”. Just because it´s our last one. We don´t have any favorites yet. Let´s see when the album is ready if any song stands out.
Q.What is the creative process for the band, and what inspires you to write your music?
Usually one of us have riff or a finished song that we arrange together
Q.What kinds of messages do you like to get across in your music?
Not sure yet!
Q.Do you ever have disagreements in your band, and how do you get past them?
We haven’t had that much disagreement yet. And the one’s we had we’ve solved.
Q.What are your plans for the future, and do you have anything that you want to spotlight that is coming up?
It´s the release of our album later this year and hopefully being able to do some gigs & tours.
