Hello Wheeler! So lovely to speak with you today!
Tell us about your latest project!
Hi! I have a new single coming out in September called "The Sun Will Shine Again". It features Kenny Bobien and is remixed by Kenny Dope.
What is a dream venue for you to perform in?
Pacha Ibiza. I was fortunate enough to be there with Tony Humphries a few years ago. the crowd was amazing.
If you were to open up your most-used streaming service, what are five songs that would be on your most played list?
1. I Want to Try Again by Nuzu Deep, FNX Omar 2. Bang the Party - Bang Bang You're Mine by DJ T 3. The Sun Will Shine Again by Kenny Bobie & Wheeler del Torro, remixed by Kenny Dope 4. N'dinga Gaba & Jaidene Veda feat.Josh Milan - Beautiful (Doug Gomez Merecumbe Soul Remix) 5. Cuba by Mijangos
Do you have a favorite ’90s jam?
Still Dre by Dr Dre. I think it’s an incredible song that still holds up today. The backstory of how the song came together could probably be made into a documentary. It was written by none other than Jay Z.
What is your favorite movie soundtrack?
My favorite movie soundtrack has to be a toss up between 3 movies. The American Gigolo by Giorgio Moroder, Superfly by Curtis Mayfield, and American Pimp the Soundtrack by the Hughes Brothers.
Favorite song to belt out in the car?
My favorite song to belt out has to be Controversy by Prince.
How important do you think it is for artists to know and understand music history?
It’s as important as oxygen to us. As an artist if you don’t know the ins and outs of the industry you will get taken advantage of and not survive as an artist. You won’t make it to releasing your first single.
Any upcoming projects you want us to know about?
Besides the song coming out in September, I have an album with Kenny Bobien called "We Need Love” dropping in October. It's going to be a good fall!
Please let everyone know where they can keep up with you and your music!
Sure, they can find me at gorillacity.net on Instagram @wheelerdtmusic.
