Interview: Wired for Sound
Hello Wired for Sound! Thank you for speaking with me!
Tell us about your latest release!
We just released a new EP March 23rd 2022 called "Choke" and it is now available on all platforms via Distrokid. The songs are melodic, and grungy with powerful vocals. Very "radio friendly" with an edge. We are currently working on a couple of songs we will release as singles for our next EP. We will also use one of these singles to make a new music video.
What was the creative process for it?
The vocals were written by Jessica (lead vocals/lead guitar) Jessica writes the guitar riffs and Joe(Drummer) writes all drum tracks then we usually just work on a riff until it transforms into a song. Then when the song is mainly written the bass player (Meghan) comes in with her basslines. Once the song is complete we record it at our practice space which is also a fully functional recording studio. We record all our tracks ourselves then we send it off to a friend who we pay to mix and master for us.
Who are some of your biggest musical influences?
Most of our musical influences stem from the 90s-2000's alternative rock, punk, metal, and grunge bands like Nirvana, Hole, Alice in Chains, The Distillers, The Pixies, Tool, Fiona Apple, Deftones, Killswitch Engage, Mudvayne, Dead Boys, and Social Distortion.
Who would be a dream collaboration for you?
Dream collabs for us would be Black Francis (the pixies) Broady Dalle (the distillers) Courney Love(Hole) Butch Vig (Garbage) Dave Grohl (foo fighters) Stevie Nicks (fleetwood mac) the band Local H, and The Deftones, Lil Wayne even lol.
Do you have a piece of advice you carry with you that you like to pass on to other musicians?
Music is an art and an expression, there is no right or wrong way so keep doing what you love and keep striving to be better.
Any upcoming projects we should be on the lookout for?
We have two new singles being mixed and mastered right now along with a music video for one of them. We will also be appearing in Relix Magazine in the June issue with one of our songs on a CD in the Magazine.
Please let everyone know where they can keep up with you and your music!
