What got you into music, and if you had not gotten into music what would you be doing today?
Poetry and performing. I’d be running and operating my own businesses.
What do you like to do when you are not playing music and how does that influence your creativity?
I like to play pool, helps envision the many angles that a song could have and create.
How long have you been making music?
I’ve been making music since 1998, 25 years of music production and marketing.
Where are you based out of and how did that influence your music?
Based in Vancouver, the opportunity to work with legendary DJ KEMO of the RASCALZ.
Tell me about your most memorable shows, if you haven’t played live what is your vision for a live show?
The best performance ever was at Fortune Sound opening up for E40 on Sept. 2012.
What is your favorite venue to play at, and do you have any places you want to play that you have not already?
Favorite venue to play at is Fortune Sound, looking forward to shows at Commodore.
If you could play any show with any lineup, who would be on the ticket?
E40, NAS, T.I., SNOOP, DRE, 50CENT, EMINEM, OUTKAST, RASCALZ, J. COLE, BUN B
What is some advice that you would give to someone who is just getting into making music and some advice that you would give to your younger self?
Learn lots daily. Focus on what you can control and work hard on your craft everyday.
Of your songs which one means the most to you and why?
Mon Bazoo, has the most commercial radio potential, written in English and French.
Which songs are your favorite to play and which get requested the most?
Favorites to perform; Blak Soulz and My Passion. Song most requested Mon Bazoo.
What is your creative process, and what inspires you to write your music?
Writing and recording, life inspires me to write about my experiences and share them.
Do you have messages that you like to get across in your music, if so please tell me about them?
The message in my songs; keep working hard, never quit and know you’re not alone.
What are your plans for the future, and do you have anything that you want to spotlight that is coming up?
My plans for the future are to release more singles for my EP BLAK MAJIK this year.
