Interview with Bren Got Hits
What got you into music, and if you had not gotten into music what would you be doing today?
Seeing Chris Brown perform, and listening to his songs over and over growing up made me want to take music to another level. If I didn’t do music today, I would be doing technician work.
What do you like to do when you are not playing music and how does that influence your creativity?
I love to work out and do yoga. It brings me more creativity because when my mind is clear and at peace, I’m able to generate more thoughts and ideas.
Where are you based out of and how did that influence your music?
I am based out of Elgin, Illinois, but I lived in Chicago for a short period of time. It influenced my music in an impactful way because hearing and seeing about so much violence where I’m from just made me want to be a positive role model to the younger generation. I spread a positive message to everyone.
What is your dream venue to play at, and do you have any places you want to play that you have not already?
My dream venue to play would be anywhere I could perform in front of thousands, in a sold-out arena. I would love to perform at arenas like Madison Square Garden.
If you could play any show with any lineup, who would be on the ticket?
Justin Bieber, Usher, The Dream, Chris Brown, Mario, and charlieonnafriday
What is some advice that you would give to someone who is just getting into playing in a band and some advice that you would give to your younger self?
Focus on your goals and priorities. I would also give my younger self that same advice.
If you could go back in time and give yourselves advice, what would it be?
Focus on yourself and your goals in life and everything else will fall in place. Nothing is bigger than your goals and accomplishments.
What is the creative process for Bren Got Hits and what inspires you to write your music?
I love to throw headphones on, play music at full blast, and go to a relaxing place to come up with creative things to write. Other times, I just love to be locked in a studio session playing different beats, filled with great vibes, and just freestyling and coming up with new things. When you love doing something so much it’ll always inspire you.
Tell us a bit more about your latest single “365”
“365” is the best summer vibe song. It’s mixed with a little rock and a little pop and gives you the best of both worlds. The song makes you want to have fun and turn up!
What kinds of messages do you like to get across in your music?
I would say self-love, never forgetting to always love yourself. I would say I’m trying to make good happy-sounding music I want people to be happy and in a groovy mood when they hear my music!
What are your plans for the future, and do you have anything that you want to spotlight that is coming up?
My plans for my future are traveling to different countries, performing at sold-out shows and just giving my fans love and support and receiving it from them, as well.
