Interview with DinoVert
What got you into music, and if you had not gotten into music what would you be doing today?
I got into music around 16-17 yrs old after I went to a music festival. From the front rails, I looked back at the crowd and saw the amount of people that those artists were able to influence in a positive way. I started music to be a voice for the people struggling in this world.
What do you like to do when you are not playing music and how does that influence your creativity?
When I’m not working on music, I enjoy editing videos/photos, as well as writing. These both enhance my creativity and free my mind to create whatever I feel in the moment.
Where are you based out of and how did that influence your music?
I’m based out of Houston, TX. I grew up listening to alot of 80s music and was later introduced to artists like Kanye West and Big Sean in the hip-hop scene. This is what grew my love for hip-hop and had me gravitating to artists like Travis Scott, Juice WRLD, and Playboi Carti.
If you could play any show with any lineup, who would be on the ticket?
Machine Gun Kelly.
If you could go back in time and give yourselves advice, what would it be?
I would’ve just told myself to start earlier, because you need time to progress, so who knows where I would be now.
Of your songs which one means the most to you and why?
“All a Dream” means the most because I wrote the lyrics and melody to the chorus laying in bed one night out of true emotion. I hadn't found a beat for it yet, so the next day I loaded up some beats and the first one I clicked fit the chorus perfectly. This was cool to me, I still have the voice memo from that night in bed.
What kinds of messages do you like to get across in your music?
I like to convey the day-to-day struggles that anyone could be going through to make them feel a little less alone.
What are your plans for the future, and do you have anything that you want to spotlight that is coming up?
My plans are to continue creating living life to the fullest. New single coming next month!
