Interview with Diverted Disorder
What got you into music, and if you had not gotten into music what would you be doing today?
Listening to Guns and Roses as a boy inspired me to start making music.
I don't know what I'd be doing, but I do know that I would have had a lot more money. lol
What do you like to do when you are not playing music and how does that influence your creativity?
We as a band normally hang out, I believe having a good connection between members makes for good music
How long has your band been around?
Hardman started recording in 2021, but the official band only started touring and doing shows at the end of 2022.
Where are you based out of and how did that influence your music?
Vaal South Africa, With not much to do in a one horse town, bands started taking over and with so many amazing bands to influence new musicians, was easy to get into music, the scene has since unfortunately died and very few bands are still going, but we're ready to take it to the next level. I don't believe the band's location influenced our style of music, there isn't much metal in the area.
How did you come up with the name of your band and what does it mean to you?
The concept is about a moment of panic that occurs due to a situation that triggered the reaction
Tell me about your most memorable shows.
For me personally the first Torn Tour show was incredible, the energy was unreal.
What is your favorite venue to play at, and do you have any places you want to play that you have not already?
We love all the venues who has been supporting us, we would love to go to Cape Town.
If you could play any show with any lineup, who would be on the ticket?
Any line up with Asking Alexandria and Avenged Sevenfold!
What is some advice that you would give to someone who is just getting into playing in a band and some advice that you would give to your younger self?
Practice the songs till you get it perfectly and focus on social media and don't tell others your future plans.
If you could go back in time and give yourselves advice, what would it be?
Stop Trusting people, some people are not your friends
Of your songs which one means the most to you and why?
Probably ambitions, the song was a breakthrough musically and it's so fun to play.
Which songs are your favorite to play and which get requested the most?
The void is the most fun and gets the crowd going, most requested... It's difficult to say, but Friend has touched a lot of people and they seem to relate to the track.
What is the creative process for the band, and what inspires you to write your music?
We would normally come together and someone would bring a baseline idea and then the band would develop it together
What kinds of messages do you like to get across in your music?
Life can really suck sometimes, but there are people who've been through it and can help. We want you, the listener, to be inspired to get help and start the road to freedom.
Do you ever have disagreements in your band, and how do you get past them?
All the time, we use a voting system and it seems to work
What are your plans for the future, and do you have anything that you want to spotlight that is coming up?
We'll be doing another anti-GBV tour and potentially a UK Tour. Also New music is coming soon.
