Interview with Lil X Dreamer
What got you into music, and if you had not gotten into music what would you be doing today?
Well, I actually still have a full time job while working on my music, but mentally, if I hadn’t gotten into music, I probably wouldn’t be walking around right now haha
What do you like to do when you are not playing music and how does that influence your creativity?
I actually used to do a lot of creative writing! But as of this moment, I’ve mostly focused most of that energy back into my music.
At the risk of sounding a bit nerdy, I also love computer programming haha. I think that’s honestly helped my music alot! In my music, my goal is to turn simple words into something much greater, And if you break down what coding is, at it’s core, it’s honestly no different!
How long has your band been around?
About a year now. That said, at first I just had one singe out, and it wasent really something I was serious about. I was still making music, but not with the intent of releasing anything. But after I started getting positive feedback off that first song and people started asking me to make more music, I decided to start actually releasing my music and to put more effort and energy into my public music.
Where are you based out of and how did that influence your music?
I am from a small town in Florida called palatka, honestly that’s probably affected my music a lot. My music has a lot of themes about being lonely and depressed. A lot of that was probably fed by living in a small town where I don’t really fit in.
How did you come up with the name of your band and what does it mean to you?
I came up with the name because I am a dreamer. I’ve always got some big dream I’m chasing. Text me the name honestly means believing in your dreams and not letting them Just disappear. Like having a dream person being a dreamer is how much you dedicate yourself to your dreams.
If you could play any show with any lineup, who would be on the ticket?
Machine gun Kelly, or $uicideboy$ for sure!
What is some advice that you would give to someone who is just getting into playing in a band and some advice that you would give to your younger self?
Don’t hold back don’t be scared just do it. It’s an amazing feeling when you make a song and then I listening back to it and you realize it’s actually good. Don’t get discouraged, everyone has bad songs but it's a learning process just like anything else!
If you could go back in time and give yourselves advice, what would it be?
Don’t do drugs! Hahaha
Of your songs which one means the most to you and why?
I would definitely be dreamer lost. Honestly all of my songs are really deep and emotional. But that one was about some recent stuff I’m going through, and I felt like I really captured those feelings in that one. I’m really proud of it and it feels like my fans are too!
What is the creative process for the band, and what inspires you to write your music?
I don't want to get too much into my creative process, but I mostly just channel all of my depression and some music just let it out with no holding back.
What kinds of messages do you like to get across in your music?
That no matter what anybody may be going through they’re not alone. But no matter how bad it gets there’s somebody else who knows your pain. And that you can get through it!
What are your plans for the future, and do you have anything that you want to spotlight that is coming up?
I'm actually working on a new album release which should be released in the next 3 months we don't have a date for it yet but it's going to be amazing!
I just dropped dreamer lost, and I should have two more songs dropping later this week!
