5P RECORDS, INC. LORD DIVINE (born JORY L. ROGERS) was raised in the most DANGEROUS and the most HIP-HOP influenced PROJECTS in New York: BRONX RIVER PROJECTS. Quickly learning the value of a dollar, he went from packing bags at supermarkets to making major moves in the drug game.

After a few arrests leading to long prison terms, he decided to change his life and began his journey into music. He formed an independent record label called: 5P RECORDS, INC which stands for:

PREVENTS POOR PERFORMANCE

...and the rest is history in the making.

What got you into music, and if you had not gotten into music what would you be doing? 

• I always had a love for music and hip hop culture. I first started writing Rhymes while in prison. I have been through a lot in my life so I feel like I should share my story with the World.  if I wasn’t doing music I would mostly be heavy into Real Estate. 

What do you like to do when you are not playing music and how does that influence your creativity?

• When I’m not doing music I enjoy working out and just spending time with my family. Relaxing my mind helps with my creative writing.

How long has music been your career?

• I’ve been creating music for years but on a professional level since 2016.

Where are you based out of and how did that influence your music?

• I’m from the Bronx, New York City which is the birthplace of hip hop so growing up as a kid I’ve been around the culture my whole life.

Tell me about the best and worst shows you have played

• My best performances were in night clubs in New York City , Atlanta Georgia, & Miami Florida. I really haven’t done a bad show.

Tell me about your favorite venue to play at, and do you have any places you want to play that you have not already?

• I like performing in Florida, New York City & Atlanta Georgia. I would like to perform in Losangeles & OverSeas.

If you could play any show with any lineup, who would be on the ticket?

• J Cole , Kendrick Lamar 42 Dugg , Asap Rocky, Kodak black.

What is some advice that you would give to someone who is just getting into music? 

• Make sure you have a strong team that believes in you & your music. Then You & your Team collectively decide which Record should be your first Single and spend your budget wisely.

If you could go back in time and give yourself advice, what would it be?

• That's a good question! The advice to myself would be always Trust your Route.

Of your songs which one means the most to you and why? 

• I would have to say ( BE READY) the Song I wrote About my lil bro getting murdered.

Which songs are your favorite to play and which get requested the most?

• I like all my songs because they all are different elements of my Life! But the Most requested songs are (WHAtcha Gon Do) ( I’m Sorry) & ( Exotic)

What is the creative process for you, and what inspires you to write your music?

• My creative process is different then most. Since I started writing rhymes in prison I have the ability to write with no beat or studio. I can just beat on the table or snap my fingers and write a whole Song. I’m a storyteller type of artist so I like to write about the past, the present & the future.

What kinds of messages do you like to get across in your music?

• My messages are not always positive or Negative but they are always Truthful! I grew up in an environment where you were held accountable for your actions.. Say What you Mean! Mean What you Say!

Do you ever have disagreements when collaborating and how do you get past them?

• Never Had That problem with other artist or producers

What are your plans for the future, and do you have anything that you want to spotlight that is coming up?

• My Plan for the future is to show the world that it’s never Too Late to fulfill your dreams. I know that hip-hop culture Needs a artist like me. For Balance I’m the bridge between the Old & The Young! Through the art of storytelling I have to show them that what they are doing has already been Done! Nothing is New under the Sun.
