Interview with PYRAMID
What got you into music, and if you had not gotten into music what would you be doing today?
Lance: I grew up around music my whole life.. It’s a huge part of a whole spectrum of things I do. I own a farm and a pest management business as well
What do you like to do when you are not playing music and how does that influence your creativity?
Lance: I love nature and live in the Adirondack Mountains Wilderness. It’s very beautiful and very inspiring.
How long has your band been around?
Lance: Pyramid was formed in 2017
Where are you based out of and how did that influence your music?
Lance: Upstate New York like the great Symphony X from New Jersey.
How did you come up with the name of your band and what does it mean to you?
Lance: Pyramid has a whole bunch of meanings but it’s something people will remember I promise you that
Tell me about your most memorable shows.
Lance: Pyramid was formed as a project so shows were really not in the scope of things especially as we went into the pandemic. Hopefully the economy pulls out of the recession and a more positive outlook comes to Music is my priority and people are enjoying the results so there will be more to come
What is your favorite venue to play at, and do you have any places you want to play that you have not already?
Lance: I like big festivals of any kind. It gives a lot of exposure and the vibe is always super intense .
If you could play any show with any lineup, who would be on the ticket?
Lance: Prog Metal in general or world renowned metal band would be super fun.
What is some advice that you would give to someone who is just getting into playing in a band and some advice that you would give to your younger self?
Lance: Put the phone down. Get in your space and put the hours in working on your craft.
If you could go back in time and give yourselves advice, what would it be?
Lance: Don’t trust people so easily ��� trust your gut
Of your songs which one means the most to you and why?
Lance: Dungeon and Dragons ��� it was created from many hours and even months of experience and details.
Which songs are your favorite to play and which get requested the most?
Lance: I see Empty Roads , Beast, Greed and Rage getting a lot of attention off this album.
What is the creative process for the band, and what inspires you to write your music?
Lance: I write all the foundation of the music. It’s all built in parts and pieces from there my friend.
What kinds of messages do you like to get across in your music?
Lance: Real life experience and emotions that people live.
Do you ever have disagreements in your band, and how do you get past them?
Lance: Not much disagreement because ultimately everyone here is unique and adds their own perspective to each song.
What are your plans for the future, and do you have anything that you want to spotlight that is coming up?
Lance: Plan is to get Pyramid to as many ears fat and wide. The new album is out and it’s important to let it sink in.
