Interview with SENSES

What got you into music, and if you had not gotten into music what would you be doing today?

We started our music career from our love for music and the desire to express ourselves through it. If we hadn't gotten into music, we would probably be involved in art, technology, or sports, as these are also significant interests of ours.

What do you like to do when you are not playing music and how does that influence your creativity?

When we’re not playing music, we enjoy activities like reading, exercising, and outdoor adventures. These activities help us recharge and often inspire new ideas for our music, providing fresh perspectives and creativity.

How long has your band been around? Also, please tell me about the dynamic of the band of what brought you all together.

Our band has been around since September 2022. We were brought together by our shared passion for rock and metal, and each member contributes unique skills and ideas to create a cohesive and dynamic group.

Where are you based and how did that influence your music?

We are based in Athens, Greece. While the local music scene and cultural influences haven't shaped our sound significantly, we don't use traditional Greek instruments in our music. Instead, we focus on rock and glam metal with elements of 80s AOR.

How did you come up with the name of your band and what does it mean to you?

We were looking for a word that sounded good and would characterize the style of the band. As true fans of AOR/hard rock and metal music, which is often romantic and dynamic, creating intense emotions, the word "Senses" seemed perfect.

Tell me about your most memorable shows.

We haven’t had the opportunity to perform live yet as we are a newly formed band. However, we are eagerly looking forward to our first shows once our album is released. We have some great opportunities lined up, and we believe they will be unforgettable experiences.

What is your favorite venue to play at, and do you have any places you want to play that you have not already?

We would love to play at venues known for their atmosphere and history. We are excited about playing at iconic venues and festivals that gather passionate music fans.

If you could play any show with any lineup, who would be on the ticket?

If we could play any show, the lineup would include our favorite bands like Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, and Scorpions. It would be an incredible experience and a dream come true to share the stage with such iconic bands.

What is some advice that you would give to someone who is just getting into playing in a band and some advice that you would give to your younger self?

We would advise staying dedicated, practicing regularly, and communicating openly with bandmates. To our younger selves, we would say to take more risks and not fear failure, as both are parts of life and growth.

Of your songs which one means the most to you and why?

"Under Your Spell" means the most to us because it captures personal experiences of love and loss. The emotional depth of the song resonates deeply with us and our listeners.

Which songs are your favorite to play and which get requested the most?

Our favorite songs to play are "Silent Disco" and "Under Your Spell." These tracks are also the most requested by our fans due to their energy and emotional impact, and they are eagerly anticipated to be heard live.

What is the creative process for the band, and what inspires you to write your music?

The creative process usually starts with a riff or melody brought by Dim Argio, followed by collaboration from all members. We are inspired by personal experiences and the world around us, aiming to create music that tells a story and evokes emotions.

What kinds of messages do you like to get across in your music?

We aim to convey messages of inner strength, emotional honesty, and the importance of self-expression. Our music often explores themes of love, struggle, and personal growth.

Do you have any new singles, videos, or albums out that you would like to tell me and your fans about?

Our latest album is "Out of Line," set to be released on July 27th, which includes the singles "Under Your Spell" and "Silent Disco." The latter also has a music video that was released two weeks ago. We are excited about the release of our new album and can't wait for everyone to hear it.

What are your plans for the future, and do you have anything that you want to spotlight that is coming

up?

Our future plans include many live performances and potentially a tour to promote "Out of Line," as well as working on new music. We also have some music videos in progress that we are eager to share with our fans.
