Interview with SIEGE PERILOUS
Hey, thank you for coming back for another interview!
What is new since the last interview?
Since this is our first interview with you guys, everything is new! I recently became a dad, we are gearing up for a summer of big releases and I don’t have to work my dayjob (teacher) for 2 more months, so things are going splendidly.
What has been inspiring you lately?
This is a great question because honestly there’s a lot. The obvious, being a dad is a whole slew of new emotional experiences and it’s this combination of miraculous and insanely stressful. In terms of things a bit more external to myself I’ve been really geeking out over Twilight Force for awhile. It helps that Kristin Starkey who does backing vocals for them (but filled in on leads for the tour) as well as being the lead singer in Temperance has been giving me vocal lessons which I think has really been inspirational she’s a great teacher and I love getting better and improving as a vocalist which I think our fans will see on these new releases and moving forward.
Do you have any new singles, videos, or albums out that you would like to tell me and your fans about?
Yes so we are currently releasing singles from our upcoming “Creation’s Call” EP. So the first track and lyric video dropped last month which was “Sons of the Verdant” which tells a really cool story about a clan of Wood Elves defending their land from colonizing oppressors. And then we just released on June 14th “Oathsworn” which is a story we pulled from the LARP (Live Action Roleplaying Game) that most of the band plays. “Oathsworn” tells the story of a group of heroes facing such a cataclysmic evil that the only way to defeat it is to travel back in time and stop its rise to power. Next month we will release our Roman Epic “Across the Rubicon” before releasing the full EP on August 23rd including “Creation’s Call” and “Brothers of the Five”.
Do you have anything else that you would like to talk about or promote?
The day after we release our EP we will be opening the first ever Mile High Power Festival in Denver, Colorado. Its Colorado’s first festival dedicated to Power Metal and we are super excited about it. Our friend Soren Bray from Celestial Wizard set it all up and we’ve loved helping him try to get things off the ground. We’re really stoked to be opening for an amazing lineup that includes a ton of personal favorites like Judicator, AfterTime, and Lords of the Trident but also has major national/international acts Seven Spires and Aether Realm headlining. It’s going to be a pretty incredible day of Power Metal!
