Interview with Sig and The Firepilots
What got you into music, and if you had not gotten into music what would you be doing today?
Would like to credit my junior school music teacher Mr.Hall. Honestly, couldn’t say…music got into me, not the other way around. Could play a mean guitar solo on my satchel.
I like to dream that I would have been racing motocycles to some degree.
What do you like to do when you are not playing music and how does that influence your creativity?
Riding and fixing motorcycles, helmet time is great for creativity.
How long have you been making music?
40 Years +!
Where are you based and how did that influence your music?
We are based in Cannock, UK. As for Influence, we had Trapeze, basically any project with Glenn Hughes.
Tell me about your most memorable shows, if you haven’t played live what is your vision for a live show?
Most memorable shows have to have been Pink Floyd and Thin Lizzy. I always envisioned doing my own material in a live show.
What is your favorite venue to play at, and do you have any places you want to play that you have not already?
As the band is very new, we have only played at The Station in Cannock, would love to play everywhere we haven’t yet!
If you could play any show with any lineup, who would be on the ticket?
Would love to have Chrissie Hynde and The Pretenders on the lineup.
What is some advice that you would give to someone who is just getting into making music and some advice that you would give to your younger self?
Force yourself to keep practicing, never give up.
Of your songs which one means the most to you and why?
She Loves (Which was written for and about my mum)
Last Watch (written for and about my dad)
Which songs are your favorite to play and which get requested the most?
Love to play a track called ‘Coppin A Feel’ and we get requested to play ‘Click Bait’ and ‘She Loves a lot too’
What is your creative process, and what inspires you to write your music?
Creativity comes from a few things, practice, onomatopea, forming songs in my head. I feel that sometimes, when you’re lucky, you tap a vein as if from a special place where creativity just flows out from.
Do you have messages that you like to get across in your music? if so please tell me about them.
It’s not political, but I like to think my lyrics have meaning. Our next single will show this I feel, it’s going to be called ‘Almost Out Of Time’.
Do you have any new singles, videos, or albums out that you would like to tell me and your fans about?
‘Click Bait’ is our debut single! There’s a music video for it too which we are really proud of.
What are your plans for the future, and do you have anything that you want to spotlight that is coming up?
Just to keep moving forward! We are working on our new single ‘Almost Out Of Time’.
How can your fans best keep up to date with you, any socials you want people to check out?
