What got you into music, and if you had not gotten into music what would you be doing today?
Mal
i started at school with a flute and bassoon because it was a good position to be in the orchestra to be close the the girls who i was close to at that age! My sisters are clarinetists but my Dad played a bit of home organ by ear.

Listeneing to bands at school and mates who played.
What do you like to do when you are not playing music and how does that influence your creativity?
Both Mick and i were carpenters with our own suceesful buisnesses,when we we not playing No influence what so ever i'm afraid.
How long has your band been around?
42 years. YES 42 years!!!!
Where are you based out of and how did that influence your music?
We both come from the North East of England....Hartlepool...Mal Middlesborough Mick
There has always been a rich history of music from here as i am sure you are aware.
How did you come up with the name of your band and what does it mean to you?
It was already named White Spirit when i (Mal) joined ,but nobody seems to know apart from Crash our first drummer who passed away a number of years ago.
Tell me about your most memorable shows.
Many over the years but Reading Festival 1980 as stand in for Gary Moore(and first band to get an encore that day
Bingley Hall with Motorhead was fun....
What is your favorite venue to play at, and do you have any places you want to play that you have not already?
Favorite venue would be Hammersmith Odeon(not sure what is called these days) (Mal)
Played some big gigs in Germany when i was with the Sweet in 1988 .Berlin before the wall came down Mick .....Japan ,Uk and US gigs with Tank...
If you could play any show with any lineup, who would be on the ticket?
This album has the perfect line up and we intend to play it live early next year........
If you could go back in time and give yourselves advice, what would it be?
Learn from as many people as you can and learn about the buisness side of it ,to stop being ripped off
Of your songs which one means the most to you and why?
Back to the Grind as it was the first one i ever wrote aged 17/18 (Mal)
Runaway. as it is the perfect single with the perfect guitar solo(according to John Coloden Head of AR Geffen /WEA USA back in the day. and myself(Mick)
Which songs are your favorite to play and which get requested the most?
Sounds a cop out answer but we love to play them all.We are very proud of them.
What is the creative process for the band, and what inspires you to write your music?
Myself and Mick throw ideas back and forth and just work them out to a conclusion.INSPIRATION COMES FROM ALL THE MUSIC WE LISTEN TO ..FROM CLASSICAL TO BLUES TO ROCK what ever catches our ears......
What kinds of messages do you like to get across in your music?
Mixture of life lessons. including some off the wall no meaning stuff.
Do you ever have disagreements in your band, and how do you get past them?
Not now ..we have known each other to long,we are almost telepathic and generally are on the same page from the get go.
What are your plans for the future, and do you have anything that you want to spotlight that is coming up?
We are recording our 3rd album at the moment but are planning festivals and shows from early next year in Europe/Japan/Australia and maybe US.
