Hi Jordan! Thank you for chatting with me today!
Tell us about your most recent release!
“Hold Tight” is my second single release and it’s also one of my most upbeat songs. I’ve been trying to mix pop and EDM into a song and this record, in my opinion, does that perfectly. The melodies are pleasant and the message is pure. I can almost guarantee a smile when listening to this song.
What is your creative process like when you are creating new music?
The creative process is always different for each song, but when David sent me this track, I came up with the melody quite easily. It only took me an hour to write this record because the chords of the song gave off such a strong vibe, it was easy to follow. All I did was freestyle a melody 2 or 3 times, then add lyrics to it write after. For this record I decided to be as descriptive as possible, almost like painting a picture. The opening lines draw the environment and the hook invokes an action.
Who are some of your biggest musical influences?
I try my best to stay well rounded in my musical influences, but lately I’ve been listening to a lot of Pop, EDM such as Zedd and The Chainsmokers.
Who would be a dream collaboration for you?
My dream collaboration would have to be Drake, just because I think he’s the greatest and most consistent of our generation.
What is the most surreal thing that has happened in your career so far?
The most surreal thing has been going viral in India with a remix of “Astronaut in the Ocean” that I made with some Turkish producers in literally 20 minutes.
What effect do you hope your music has on the world?
I want my music to portray good morals and more importantly have the music point to my character. I want to be a role model for what I needed growing up.
Any upcoming projects you want us to know about?
I have a lot of projects in the works, nothing is ever final though till it’s out. I am working with some pretty heavy hitters in the DJ space while trying to come up with a west coast tour as well.
Please tell everyone where they can keep up with you and your music!
