Interview with Soul Blast
What got you into music, and if you had not gotten into music what would you be doing today?
Music is our passion. We have a professional life. However, it is difficult to live without hobbies or passion. It turns us on, makes us want more and better. We cannot imagine my life without music.
What do you like to do when you are not playing music and how does that influence your creativity?
We have different passions or activities. These are our families, relatives and friends. Joint trips or simply spending time together.
How long has your band been around?
We’re from Katowice (Poland). Band was formed at the beginning of 2017. Since that time we have realesed 2 LP, 4 EP and 3 SP.
Where are you based out of and how did that influence your music?
We grew up on the music of the 90's. There are many bands we like and respect, but we want to be and we are Soul Blast. Anyone can listen to us and maybe then some references to specific bands will be found.
How did you come up with the name of your band and what does it mean to you?
It’s simply sounds good and define what we are going to do with our music. It has to be a blast for your soul, the good and positive ones.
Tell me about your most memorable shows.
A very fresh memory of the last show in Krakow. It was a blow. Great fun, great international audience. We have mixed an energetic, dynamic and juicy mixture of different styles of groovy riffs and…dances.
What is your favorite venue to play at, and do you have any places you want to play that you have not already?
Very difficult question. We will answer them like this. Any place that treats you fair sticks to the arrangements is very ok. Worse when you come to the club and its crew is surprised that you are playing tonight. We would like to play at the stadium. It would be an interesting experience.
If you could play any show with any lineup, who would be on the ticket?
Flapjack, Madball, Agnostic Front, Booze and Glory, Antrax, Beastie Boys
What is some advice that you would give to someone who is just getting into playing in a band and some advice that you would give to your younger self?
Do as you feel and have fun.
If you could go back in time and give yourselves advice, what would it be?
Be patient, do as you feel and have fun.
Of your songs which one means the most to you and why?
'Soul Blast', in which we support all those suffering from cancer and their families.
Which songs are your favorite to play and which get requested the most?
Hard to say, but all which are present on the setlist i.e Soul Blast, Pigs to rent, We’re getting stronger, The most evil donuts and many more.
What is the creative process for the band, and what inspires you to write your music?
Usually someone brings a riff that we then develop, build and create. Our texts concern the present and the challenges ahead. They are important to us, they are supposed to give hope and joy
What kinds of messages do you like to get across in your music?
Dive into our tunes and enjoy the vibes, cause they’re real.
Do you ever have disagreements in your band, and how do you get past them?
Not yet…
What are your plans for the future, and do you have anything that you want to spotlight that is coming up?
Constantly touring, visiting smaller and larger clubs all over the country. We do hope, we’ll be able to play abroad next years.
